Currently serving as the Director of Planning and Community Development for Grovetown, Georgia, Scott Sterling previously served as Director of Planning and Development in North Augusta, South Carolina for over 5 years and over 8 years as the City Planner prior to his promotion to Director.
Scot has a Bachelor of Science degree in Urban Planning from Arizona State University and Master’s degree in Public Administration from Indiana State University. He also has completed several college courses in Architecture and Construction Management.
Before working for the City of North Augusta, Scott served as Project Planner for a planning consulting firm based in Grand Rapids, Michigan. For more than three and a half years, Scott was responsible for planning projects including: transportation corridor studies, Comprehensive Plans, creating and modifying Zoning and Development Ordinances, Park planning and on-going municipal consultation. During his college years at Arizona State University, his internships and professional work included stints at the cities of Scottsdale and Phoenix, Arizona. Scott has enjoyed over 17 years of planning during his career.
He and his wife, Vanessa, have been married for over 3 years and together have three high school age children.
